Dispute, confusion, interference. Avoiding conflict. Hiding true thoughts or feelings. I: Breakthrough. Getting to the root of a problem. Speaking your mind. Could mean conflict that leads to resolution of a problem. Facing fears.

Mist shrouds the swords, hiding their sharpness. Perhaps it is moving closer and overtaking them all. For the inverse meaning you could interpret the free sword as cutting away or parting the mist while the others emerge into clarity.

This one is definitely good just as it is, both as an image and for the card meaning itself. There's a keen feeling of being lost, confused, and alone.

My first perception was of soldiers marching into battle, but with the smoke it made me think that perhaps this was soldiers leaving the battlefield, inconclusive as to whether it was victory or defeat. There is definitely a sense of confusion, vastly unperceived elements, as what goes on beyond the smoke is anyone's guess. I'm not sure if this is what you were going for, but this was my interpretation of the card.

Yes I was definitely going for confusion and mystery. The soldiers interpretation puts that in a really interesting context. Makes it feel more frightening if you put yourself in that position, seems to me.
